We have made it to three posts in a row y’all! How exciting! As you most likely haven’t noticed, this is not a typical long-winded, rambling on and on blog post; it is a Photo Post, which will be categorized differently.
Photo Posts are short and sweet – a reflection of some of my Instagram Posts where I just started writing these long, descriptive captions. I also found that I’d like to better serve those photos and their captions in full resolution on a separate website: joshaveryphoto.com
This is an example of one of those long captions on one of those photos that just makes you think. Hope y’all like it!
This is actually not my photo, but rather a photo I stumbled upon on Flickr.
I felt at such ease staring at the photo of calming, tranquil ocean waters at what looks like high noon.
An endless expanse.
What this mesmerizing photo represents to me is that water has the power to calm my heart & head.
To therefore surround oneself with water.
It represents fluidity.
In and around the tranquility of water, ease of mind replaces the busyness of thinking, and we can’t help but naturally gravitate into its depths.
It represents curiosity.
A sense of adventure out on the open seas – to go explore what might be out there.
It’s no wonder everyone wants to live by the ocean. That same power and magical ability can also be found in any body of water, from a glassy lake, calm river, or still bath.
Consider taking the time today to be present in the power of water.
Stare into its depths, steep yourself like a bag of tea, and let your mind and heart rest in that feeling.
I will end with a quote from an eloquent yet powerful take on water by Bruce Lee:
“Be Water, My Friend.
Empty your mind.
Be formless, shapeless, like water.
You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.
You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle.
You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.
Now water can flow or it can crash.
Be water, my friend.”
Thank you for your time and attention to this photo post, it is the most valuable commodity. If you would like to Buy Me a Coffee or Subscribe to my weekly newsletter, you can do so on my website.
